Clive Cowdery – Founder of The Resolution Group

Clive Cowdery

Clive is Founder of The Resolution Group. Clive was previously the Chairman of Resolution plc, which was acquired by Pearl Group in 2008, before which he was Chief Executive of Resolution Life Group, which was founded in 2003. From 1998 – 2003, Clive was Chairman and Chief Executive of General Electric Insurance Holdings, with operations in 12 countries across Europe.

Clive is Chairman of Resolution Life, a specialist U.S. life insurance company. Clive is also Founder and Chairman of the Resolution Foundation, an independent research and policy organisation. Clive is majority owner and a director of Prospect Publishing Limited.

Jon Hack – Managing Partner

Jon HackJon Hack is Managing Partner at The Resolution Group. He was previously Managing Director and Head of European Financial Institutions Group for Lazard, where his primary focus was advising on M&A transactions across the banking, insurance and asset management sectors in Europe. While at Lazard, Jon led the formation and capital raise for Resolution’s first project in 2004, and joined The Resolution Group in 2009. Prior to joining Lazard in 1994, Jon qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Price Waterhouse.

 

 

Pat Butler – Partner

Pat Butler joined The Resolution Group in January 2011, having previously been a Senior Director at McKinsey & Co. Pat is responsible for developing strategies for restructuring projects, along with related acquisitions and for the strategic and operational repositioning of acquired businesses.

During his 25 years at McKinsey, Pat advised banks, insurance companies and asset managers in the U.K., EMEA and North America on issues related to corporate strategy, business strategy, operations and organisation. From 2006-2010, he led McKinsey’s European Retail Financial Services Practice and before that led the firm’s U.K. Financial Institutions Practice.

Prior to McKinsey, Pat qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Andersen & Co.
